This week…
The students have been enjoying learning about reduce,
reuse, recycle, this will be our last week learning about the topic. During the
week we will focus on looking at how we can reuse things at home that is not
necessary trash, for example clothes. We will also review everything we have
learned in the unit and celebrate our learning by having ‘‘show and tell’’ on
Friday.
During our journey to learn about reduce, reuse, recycle we
have learned concepts and skills in literacy, math, science, social studies,
the arts, and technology. We’ll used thinking skills to investigate, ask
questions, solve problems, make predictions, and test our ideas. Thank you for speaking
with your child about what he/she learned at school every day to reinforce
their learning.
Esta semana…
Los alumnos han podido disfrutar aprendiendo sobre reducir,
reutilizar, reciclar, esta será nuestra última semana aprendiendo sobre el
tema. Durante la semana nos centraremos en mirar cómo podemos reutilizar cosas
en casa que no es basura necesariamente, por ejemplo, la ropa. También
repasaremos todo lo que hemos aprendido en la unidad y celebraremos nuestro
aprendizaje durante '' mostrar y contar '' el viernes.
Durante nuestro viaje de aprendisaje sobre reducir,
reutilizar, reciclar hemos aprendidos conceptos y habilidades en la
alfabetización, matemáticas, ciencias, estudios sociales, las artes y la
tecnología. Hemoms usado habilidades de
pensamiento para investigar, hacer preguntas, resolver problemas, hacer
predicciones, y poner a prueba nuestras ideas. Gracias por haber hablado con su
hijo/a sobre lo que él / ella aprendió en la escuela todos los días para
reforzar su aprendizaje.
At home you can…
Encourage your child to mold and explore dough while you describe the
shapes she makes. Your child will begin to connect the shapes she feels with
her hands with the shape words she hears you say.
Molding dough gives your child the
experience of learning how three-dimensional shapes are formed. The experiences
children gain directly through using their hands and fingers leave a special
and lasting understanding of the physical world. Easy art exploration can give
your child confidence for later creative expressions.
Try making playdough using the following
recipe:
2 cups flour 1 cup water
1 cup salt 2 tablespooons cooking oil
2 tablespooons cream of tartar 1
tablespoon food coloring
Mix all ingredients together in a
saucepan. Cook over low–medium heat, stirring constantly until it forms a ball.
Put the ball on a board and knead for 2–3 minutes. Store the dough in an
airtight container between play sessions.
En casa usted puede ...
Anime a su hijo/a para moldear y explorar
masa mientras usted describe las formas que ella hace. Su hijo/a comenzará a
conectar las formas que siente con sus manos con las palabras de la forma que
oye usted dice.
Moldear la masa le da a su hijo/a la experiencia de aprender cómo se forman las
formas tridimensionales. Las experiencias que los niños obtienen directamente
mediante el uso de sus manos y dedos dejan una comprensión especial y duradera del del

la siguiente receta:
2 tazas de harina 1 taza de
agua
1 taza de sal 2 tablespooons
aceite de cocina
2 tablespooons cremor tártaro
1 cucharada de colorante de alimentos
Mezclar todos los ingredientes
en una cacerola. Cocine a fuego medio, revolviendo constantemente hasta que se
forme una bola. Coloque la bola en una tabla y amasar durante 2-3 minutos.
Guarde la masa en un recipiente hermético entre sesiones de juego.

- Please do not give your child any snacks with peanuts because we have a student with allergies.
- According to the Department of Health, your child should be vaccinated with the flu shot before January 1st.
- Our “Holiday presentation” will be on Tuesday December 15th at 9 am.
- If you can and want to donate a simple food dish for Friday’s celebration, it will greatly appreciate.
- During the holiday, please create a sculpture with your child using recycled items.
