This will be our second week learning about balls. As we learn about this topic the children will be given opportunities to investigate balls from many different perspectives, for example they will explore important concepts of physical science and social studies as they observe, gather data, explore their community, and meet interesting people. A study of balls also offers a meaningful way for children to use skills in mathematics, literacy, the arts, and technology.
During our journey to learn about balls, I hope the students will meet some of the New York State Common Core Standards for Prekindergarten, which I listed on the lesson plan.

Esta semana sera la segunda semana que estudiamos el temas de bolas, que ofrecerán a los niños oportunidades para investigar objetos desde muchas perspectivas diferentes. Explorarán conceptos importantes de la ciencia física y estudios sociales al observar, recopilar datos, explorar su comunidad y conocer gente interesante. Un estudio de las bolas también ofrece una manera significativa para que los niños utilizan las habilidades en matemáticas, alfabetización, las artes y la tecnología.
Durante nuestro viaje para conocer las bolas, espero que los estudiantes aprendan algunas de las normas fundamentales del Estado de Nueva York basada an el Common Core para Prekindergarten, los cuales he puesto en la lection de esta semana.

Invite your child to play a rhyming game with you. Begin by repeating words he
has heard in a nursery rhyme or favorite book such as Fox in Socks: Fox, socks, box.
All those words rhyme. Now I’m going to say more words. But one won’t rhyme with
the others. When you hear that word tell me to stop. Are you ready? Fox, socks, blocks,
clocks, apple.
Repeat the words if he/she does not tell you to stop at apple.
Use nonsense words occasionally to make the game more fun.
Place the non-rhyming word at different points in the sequence so that your
child will not expect it.
Your child will practice hearing rhyme patterns and eliminating words that do not fit. Recognizing
rhymes is another step in understanding how words are put together. Games that help your child focus on the individual sounds of language also help him/her to develop skills that will be useful in learning to read and spell.

cantimplora. Todas estas palabras riman. Ahora voy a añadir más palabras, pero una no rima
con las otras. Cuando oigas la palabra que no rima, dime que pare. ¿Estás listo? Dora, exploradora,
cantimplora, hora, papel.
Si el niño/a no le pide que pare cuando diga papel, repita las palabras.
Para hacer el juego más divertido, use de vez en cuando palabras inventadas.
